I thought it would be nice to share some new goodies with you all! I'm definitely having a love affair with pearlescent tones, metallic pieces, and anything sparkling or pink. The Temperley candle and both necklaces are presents from my lovely friend Lauryn (she spoils me I swear). I just picked up the nail polish from american apparel the other day and sometimes I think I get as excited about new nail colors as I do shoes, haha. Anywho, I'm off to bed and to get ready for our lil day trip up to Santa Barbara tomorrow...been seriously missing beignets from Tupelo Junction, mochas from Jeannine's, and Butterfly Beach, can't wait!

I love the idea of pieces from the hardware store worn as jewelry. I've seen copper and brass worn as rings, cuffs, and hair accessories, which is why I couldn't resist when running into my tiny, local hardware shop the other day. The best part is that this copper "tube" actually keeps my hair in a ponytail for a while instead of slipping off. The weather can't seem to make up its mind today so I'm running out the door for errands before it decides to rain!

Visiting a potential wedding venue up north this past weekend in the rain, though it was still quite beautiful. I'm obsessed with this skirt, a Christmas gift from my fiance, with all it's fantastic plaid glory. Excuse the wrinkles, it was in a suitcase for six hours, ha! Anywho, after returning to Los Angeles and 80 degree weather I've decided Summer is here and I actually liked sipping my warm weather iced mocha today instead of the usual scorching hot one this time of year.

Fortunately we're dragging ourselves into the car tomorrow morning for the drive up to Mill Valley for a 1920's Prohibition themed New Year's dinner party, ooh la la!

Got back last week from Kauai and have been mad busy since the return! There are no words or even pictures that can describe the true beauty of the sunsets and the ocean. Everything is so mellow and chill...one incredibly exciting thing that happened while there was that I got engaged!! It was magical. We're definitely missing island life being back, haha. On the other hand it is nice to have a little Fall chill in the air, and when I say a little I mean a brief moment of snuggly sweater weather, but we'll see, it might be back!

Enjoyed a spectacular sunset from the rooftop garden at work the other day. My boyfriend and I thought the lighting was perfection and HAD to snap a few pics. I must say I'm absolutely in love with these wide leg "Tipsy" pants. A huge thank you to Cammy from Show Me Your Mumu!! This particular evening happened to be a little chilly (yay) so I paired these sheer lovelies up with a loose blouse and sweater Fall-style, but definitely plan on wearing them all up and down the beach in Kauai next week as well, haha. It's beyond rad that these pants not only fit amazingly but also work well into every season, stoked for sure. Looking forward to going crazy and picking up a few of the other prints available, peacock perhaps?

I hope everybody's Monday went well. I just had the best time gallivanting around with family in town for a visit. We started off the weekend early on Friday with a day trip to Venice, where we were greeted with perfectly cooler weather (compared to east LA). After a deliciously (crack-filled, I swear!!) mocha at Urth we cruised over to the Mumu Hut on Abbot Kinney. It's the most magical place on the street filled with TO DIE printed pants, bell sleeved tops, lace shorties, and adorable swimsuits! I couldn't resist a few pieces, which I will post pics of very soon :)

My boyfriend, being as lovely as he is, surprised me with a picnic yesterday afternoon at the little meadow in Silverlake.  The spread was a stunning mix of our favorite cheeses, baguette, strawberries and homemade orange juice.  Absolutely delish!  We decided it was the perfect way to start off Summer, although the breeze made it slightly chilly.  Also took a few fun, wind-blown minutes to snap a couple pics of the rainbow shawl and beautiful watercolor dream coat from my vintage shop on Etsy!  These pieces are truly dreamy and make me think of Summer every time I look at them, so I thought I would share.  Get into all the vintage goodies at the shop HERE.  Anywho, I haaaave to mention my lurve for these silver, pointy toed, platform creepers.  Saw them and died. Jeffrey is too good...again.
